Shalom from the Holy City!
It is hard to believe we are here, in the center of what is considered to be the holiest city on earth. Our guide, Rony, says that throughout these last few days all we have learned will climax as we explore this city together. Today was certainly an exploration! It began on the outskirts of Jerusalem, on a mountain where we could overlook the holy places. We had the privilege of looking on the Muslim and Jewish holy sights where they are side by side. They are so beautiful, but it grieved my heart to think of the way these nationalities are constantly vying for religious freedom from each other.
Next, we travelled to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Dominues Flevat, where the Lord wept over Jerusalem near the end of His ministry. We ended the day with a tour through Hezekiah's Tunnel. It seems impossible to put my finger on what has been the most memorable sight of the day, but I was privilege to be a part of all of it.
Tonight we will have a memorable visit to an old friend of my Dad's. He is involved with the Jewish military system and if I'm not mistaken I believe he is a spy, so it will be a privilege to talk with him about it all.
I wish I could update photos but unfortunately the computers here are mostly incapable of doing so. However, I promise to put more up when we get home! I will see you all very soon, and love you all.
Hannah
